From May 28-June 2, 2017 representatives of the Gunma University International Center(GUIC) took part in the NAFSA 2017 conference. Held every year in a different American city, the City of Los Angeles was the host city for this year’s conference. Considered the largest international education event of its kind, the NAFSA 2017 conference attracted 9,700 participants from 100 countries around the world.
For Gunma University, this year again, participating in the NAFSA conference proved to be a very productive, fruitful and rewarding event. As with other such events, Gunma University representatives were given the opportunity to meet face-to-face with established partner university representatives along with first-time contacts interested in exploring possible avenues of collaboration.
Looking ahead to 2018, the City of Philadelphia will play host to the next NAFSA conference. Until then, it will be interesting to see what the newest trends and developments will bring and how these changes will impact the evergrowing field of international education worldwide.
