This scholarship is available to highly qualified international students studying in Japanese universities at their own expense. The monthly stipends are 48,000 yen. In June 2016, 8 students from Gunma University are to be qualified for this scholarship.

Private organization scholarship
Private organizations provide scholarships for highly qualified international students studying in Japanese universities at their own expense. The monthly stipends range from 30,000 yen to 200,000 yen by the organization. In June 2016, 18 students from Gunma University are qualified for these scholarships. Posters and/or information are posted on the bulletin boards of the International Office and each faculty whenever these scholarships are offered to Gunma University students.

You can have the list of these scholarships that are accepting applications now from our GUIC offial website.

Among private organization scholarships, there are two types: scholarships that students apply for via the university, and scholarships that students apply for in person. The former need to be applied for at the administrative office of each faculty. Regarding the latter, students should apply for themselves. You must inform the administrative office of each faculty or the International Exchange Office of the result if you do receive a scholarship.

If you are granted a scholarship, never fail to follow the organization’s rules and requirements such as attending the organization’s periodical meetings, submitting required documents, etc. In case you go abroad and cannot be contacted for any length of time, you should inform the organization that you will be temporarily out of the country before you leave.

Japanese Government Scholarships
In 2016, the monthly stipends are 143,000~145,000 yen for postgraduate students and 117,000 yen for undergraduate students. For further details, please inquire at the Japanese Embassy in your country. As of June 2016, 44 students of Gunma University are qualified for the scholarships.
